MaineToday.com: "All of northern New England was seeing snow, but the heaviest accumulations were expected in a swath that included southern Maine and New Hampshire. Up to 10 inches of snow could fall in those areas, according to the National Weather Service.

The snowfall was enough to make it the snowiest December in Portland since 1995 when 33.9 inches of snow fell in the month, said meteorologist Tom Hawley.

Before the latest storm, Portland had recorded 22.7 inches of snow and Concord, N.H., had recorded 20.9 inches. In Vermont, more than 33 inches of snow had fallen through midnight at the airport in South Burlington."
