An East End resident announced plans to collect 500 voter signatures in an effort to recall District 1 City Councilor Kevin Donoghue.- MaineToday.com
Randee Bucknell said she believes Donoghue should be removed from office 'because of his general lack of sympathy for the needs and concerns of the people of District 1 and the city of Portland,' according to a news release.
Donoghue said Bucknell has yet to contact him directly about her specific concerns, but he supports a voter's right to pursue alternative representation.
If Bucknell succeeds in collecting 500 voter signatures in a sworn affidavit, the city clerk would be required to hold a petition drive on the question of a holding a recall election.
