Recall

yeah, these things usually work.
An East End resident announced plans to collect 500 voter signatures in an effort to recall District 1 City Councilor Kevin Donoghue.

Randee Bucknell said she believes Donoghue should be removed from office 'because of his general lack of sympathy for the needs and concerns of the people of District 1 and the city of Portland,' according to a news release.

Donoghue said Bucknell has yet to contact him directly about her specific concerns, but he supports a voter's right to pursue alternative representation.

If Bucknell succeeds in collecting 500 voter signatures in a sworn affidavit, the city clerk would be required to hold a petition drive on the question of a holding a recall election.
