Porthole survives
"The Portland City Council voted unanimously shortly after midnight last night to renew liquor and entertainment licenses for the Porthole Restaurant and Comedy Connection.
City officials had initially said zoning and safety regulations limited the Porthole's outdoor capacity to 40 people. The restaurant holds 61 people and the Comedy Connection holds 157 people.
Owner Oliver Keithly said he wanted to continue hosting bands and dancing for as many as 250 people on the wharf outside the Porthole, which he has done for several years."
