Movies on Exchange Closing

"Portland art house movie theater, the Movies on Exchange, will be moving to the Portland Museum of Art after the start of the new year. The movie theater on Exchange Street will close at the start of 2009 and the museum will begin showing films in February.

Stephen and Judith Halpert, owners of the Movies on Exchange, approached the art museum about a year-and-a-half ago, said Kristen Levesque, director of marketing and public relations at the museum. The Halperts will work with museum staff as consultants."
