State to Take over Marine Terminal

The State may lease and invest in the International Marine Terminal. Press Herald:
"City officials pushed for the port authority to take over the terminal last year, saying the city could not afford the $8 million in needed repairs. The city lost about $19,000 operating the terminal in 2008. Although it took in $312,000 in revenue, the city spent $331,000 on operating expenses.

Cargo movement at the terminal has been so minimal in the past year that the city this winter used it to store snow removed from city streets."
