The Press Herald is reporting that all businesses and residential tenants at 10 Exchange Street need to be out by in a week. The building owner apparently has not repaired fire safety violations.
My girlfriend works in JL Coombs shoe store in this building and said they just heard about this eviction notice on Monday as well. Hopefully some sort of deal can be made. Keeping up with fire codes seems like a small price to pay for people's safety.
