Maine Wharf Proposal Advances

The owner of the Maine Wharf has gotten the support of some of the City Council for his plan to put a hotel complex on the wharf.
'I see this as a tremendous opportunity for the city to show some leadership,' said Councilor Cheryl Leeman, chair of the Community Development Committee. 'I truly believe we need to step up to the plate and do whatever we can do to help (the developer) through the process.'
And the Press Herald now has an interactive page of the waterfront issue. It may not be as sophisticated as this, but it is a good start. Though if they are going to have a story on the Maine Wharf, they might want that labeled on the map.

Thank you for pointing out Maine Wharf omission on Press Herald Portland waterfront map (http://tinyurl.com/bw97e3). It should be there now!
