Federal Arts Money

Maine Daily News: "National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) is sending a total of $1,342,100 in grants to the state for artistic endeavors:
$1,109,600 to the Maine Arts Commission.
$100,000 to the Maine State Museum for the support the touring exhibition 'Uncommon Threads: Wabanaki Textiles, Clothing, Costume.'
$12,500 to the Bowdoin Summer Music Festival, Inc., in Brunswick, to support the Echoes of Eight Decades concert series.
$18,000 to the Figures of Speech Theater in Freeport for its rural Maine Initiative.
$30,000 to the Portland Museum of Art in Portland to support the Winslow Homer Wood Engravings Access Project.
$12,000 to the Maine Humanities Council in Portland to support its New Books, New Readers program.
$20,000 to Cultural Resources, Inc. in Rockport to support 'Artists of the Forest', a folk and traditional arts project.
$10,000 to the Five Rivers Arts Alliance to support the promotion of arts and cultural activities in the southern midcoast area.
$30,000 to the Maine Indian Basketmakers Alliance in Old Town to support the Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program and Maine Indian Basketmakers Gathering/Festival."
